Welcome to the GFWC Coral Springs Women's Club. Our club is a volunteer organization of approximately 45 women who raise funds for charity and promote community service.
Our club was founded in 1970 with the objectives of furthering education and civic and charitable activities in Coral Springs and the community at large, as well as promoting personal growth among its members. Coral Springs residency is not a requirement for membership. In fact, some members live in Boynton Beach, Coconut Creek, Deerfield Beach, Lauderdale Lakes, Margate and Parkland to list of few of the neighboring cities.
We are instrumental in enriching the lives of those in our community. We have a diverse population in Coral Springs and welcome into membership those women with an interest in improving the quality of life in Coral Springs for themselves and others.
Projects in which members can choose to participate include cleaning a portion of Lakeview Drive, donating to Women in Distress, participating in district and state Art competitions and donating to the Sawgrass Nature Center. In 2012, we will focus on Domestic/Family Violence. For the past several years, our club has given a scholarship to a woman who is returning to college as a “non-traditional student.”
In addition to the above community activities, we have a luncheon scheduled in the Spring, along with field trips to restaurants and places of interest in the area, a holiday party and an auction and get-togethers to work on crafts which are donated around the community.
I am a 3rd year member of this wonderful club and cannot say enough about its members and the charity work that we focus on. I wish I had known about it years ago. I have truly found my place in this volunteer organization and I hope that you will, too!
